Dynamic mechanical analysis is a high-precision technique used for measuring materials’ visco-elastic properties. It consists of applying sinusoidal stress to a specimen and measuring the resultant force transmitted by the specimen, by means of a dynamic mechanical analyser. This is a highly versatile instrument that can be used to carry out automatic analyses on a specimen by applying frequency and amplitude-controlled dynamic excitation under conditions determined by the operator.
